No Sew, Ladder Tee-Shirt, DIY. The Gigi.

This shirt was inspired by a very special person.
Someone I think is simply amazing.
She is one of the kindness, strongest women I know.

Things you need

  1.  Black Tee-shirt *I used a men's medium. I am 5'7" 135lbs
  2. Chalk
  3. Sharp scissors

Cut out your collar.
This will make it sit off the shoulder.

 Draw our your pattern.
I drew 3 different rectangles
draw lines across, in the middle of each  rectangle.
Then  carefully cut your lines.
stretch your material gently to make your strips more tubular.

Cut a slit up one side of the shirt.about 10 to 12 inches

 Tie in a knot

There is so much you can do with a plain tee-shirt.
Be creative.

How I wore it HERE.
I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday night.

make one as a special gift for your best friend,
for your Mom or for your daughter to take to school.
The canvas totes come three to a pack so you can decorate one for all three,
 however your little heart desires.

 carefully paint your bird.

wait about 5 minutes and then remove your stencil.

Once it was all dry I used my new 4 inch Mod Podge glue brush from Plaid
(which I love) and my Satin Mod Podge Glue by  Plaid

Bead and Chain Necklace, DIY

I am always needing necklaces and I just love to create my own.
Here is one I came up with, easy and colorful.
Need a necklace to match an outfit?
Why not make one in a snap.

Things You Need

  1. Chain  *at least 57inches
  2. Wooden Beads *Wal-Mart craft department
  3. 1 small glass bead
  4. 2 medium jump rings
  5. 1 small jump ring
  6. 1 eye pin
  7. 1 lobster clasp
  8. Ruler
  9. Pliers

 Measure your chain.
One 16 inches, one18 inches, one 20 inches

Now measure a small 3 inch piece of chain for the back of the necklace.

Take your pliers and make the hole in your bead larger so that the chain slides through in easily.

Slide your beads on your chain
***Important ***
make sure your chain is straight.

Now with your pliers open your jump rings.
add your chain to each jump ring and your lobster clasp,
Longest chain  first
then the middle chain
then the short chain
Repeat on the other jump ring.
  now close your jump rings.
Add your eye pin to the glass bead.

With your pliers cut the eye pin about 1 centimeter from the bead and make a circle
leaving enough open to attach to the 3 inch chain.
Close the circle

Take your small jump ring and  with your pliers, open it and attach it to the other end of the 3 inch chain, then attach that to the back of the necklace, on the side that does not have the lobster clasp.
Close your jump ring.

The back
Here is one with all three of the same size and color beads

Here is a multi -colored one with the yellow bead slightly bigger.

Have a wonderful Thursday.

No Sew, One Shoulder Shirt. DIY

I wanted a one shoulder shirt to wear out Saturday night but I couldn't find one that fit,
So I decided to make my own and no sewing required.

Things you need.

  1. Mens Tee- Shirt* I used a Extra large mens Tee-shirt.
  2. Scissors
  3. Chalk
How to determine the size tee-shirt you need
Large mens tee-shirt for a small build
Extra large mens tee-shirt for a medium build
XXL mens tee- shirt for a large build
first make a diagonal  cut from under one arm to the top collar.
and cut off the other sleeve
cut the top apart so that you have two pieces
This is how I measured for me. Just measure across the front of your body.
13 inches from the top shoulder
I am 18in across right under the breast.
16 inches,  about 3 inches lower- almost to my waist
15 inches at the waist
back to 18 inches at the hips.
cut in to your marks.
I cut off a small piece as shown in the picture... it just fell better on my arm.
also cut your shirt up the side to open it up
so that you can tie the strips you cut.
Now tie your shirt you can adjust it however you like, tighter or more loose.
the second tie from the top, you want to tie a small knot at the end..
because this will hang off your shoulder.

I love this shirt..
I hope your Tuesday was fantastic!

Scarf Cover up / Dress, Easy DIY.

I have been wanting to make this beach cover up / dress
ever since I saw it on Pinterest about two months ago.
Finally I did it.
This was super easy to make with very little sewing.
I can't wait to wear it.

Victoria secret beach cover up

Things you need
  1. Scarf *2 yards by 1 yard
  2. Scissors
  3. 6 safety pins
  4. Scrap piece of tee shirt
  5. Sewing machine.
  6. Matching thread

Cut four strips of tee shirt material  1 1/2 inches wide
stretch the material so it make a tube then measure
2 of them 11 inches long.(Arm Straps)
and 2 at  36 inches long ( Back Straps)
this dress fits my size which is 5'7" 135 pounds.
if you are bigger make the arm straps a little longer
smaller a little shorter.

Measure from the end of the scarf toward the center 9 inches on both sides.
attach the arm straps and the back straps on with your safety pins
 Try it on.
Now is the time to adjust  the straps if you need to.

If you like how it fits, sew your arm straps on  to your scarf

Sew the back straps to the scarf.

you can wrap the back straps around and tie them in the front
to make an  empire waist dress/ cover up.

or just tie it in the back
I added the strap for extra support and a different look.
Also,if you used a scarf that was 2 yards by 2 yards it would be a maxi dress.

Beach cover up or sexy dress,
you decide
Happy Sunday!.
