Fashion is my Favorite F- word. November

Clothes have always been my number one love. I can remember when I was younger and my mom would buy me  a new dress or a new pair of  jeans  I would get so excited.  The smell the them always gave me such a wonderful feeling. I would lay  them out on the bed and arrange outfits from 5 pieces. I was hooked from the very beginning.
My journey with clothes was always changing. I would wear my sweaters backwards and mix the craziest colors. I loved expressing myself through clothes.
I was Always on a budget and always struggling when my children were small to make myself feel better though dressing. Now that I am in my Fifty's I suddenly find  myself feeling like I was  back  in high school.   I am  getting excited about dressing and creating outfits and finding that one piece that will mix with everything.   I am almost positive,  that as the time goes by and I get older,  I will be one of those ladies who looks way too overdressed for the supermarket or for the quick trip to Target. To be completely honest  I really don't care what anyone else thinks, because it makes me happy and that's the most important thing isn't  it?  Finding your happy and expressing  it anyway you can.

This blog is mostly focused on my DIY,  but I think in  this New Year coming  I will incorporate what I wear, because it's what makes me happy and when I look back on this blog, it will help me remember that feeling Clothes gave me.

Love to you all.
I hope you can Find your Happy and Express it.

5 Minute Tee: The Liera. Repost

I made this Tee Shirt in about 5 minutes in 2012.( The Hair :)
If you are looking to spice up a plain shirt this one is really easy
 and reeks of instant gratification.
Great project for teens to do over the Thanksgiving Break
you could even use a long sleeve Men's tee.
and style it with a colorful tank underneath.
I love going back and grabbing inspiration from past projects.
Sending Love and Light to you all.

Tutorial
Things you need

  1. Tee-shirt~ I used a Men's Medium.
  2. Scissors
  3. Chalk
 Cut out the collar.

Flip your shirt over  so the back is facing you.
With your chalk  draw  a shape like the one above.
I eyeball everything
This is  about 10 inches across and about 10 inches down.
draw lines going straight across about one inch apart.
I did 5 lines but you can do more if you want.

Cut each line.
Careful not to cut the front of the shirt.
Stretch gently
to make the material tubular.
cut a slit up one side of the shirt about 10 to 11 inches.
 Tie it to fit you.

Halloween Garland 101.

The  Halloween Garland has finally been finished. I have been wanting to make a garland for my fireplace for about two years now. This year I set my mind to it and I did it. Once you make your little felt characters, sewing them on to the jute is super simple. I love how it turned out.
How about you, are there projects you want to do and just put them off because you have to do for everyone else, or you just  run out of time?

Multi-Tied, Side Tee: DIY

I was in the middle of working on a different project when I had someone ask me about another  shirt I had made a year ago and they could not find a tutorial on it. When I  went to look for the tutorial for them  I realized that I had not made one. What the heck ...
Then I realized It was Right when my Grandmother had passed away and I am sure my mind was a little crazy at the time. I really  wanted to post a tutorial on it  so I  quickly re-made the shirt. and wrote up this tutorial
This shirt would be really cute with jeans or shorts or even paired with a cute skirt.
The best thing about this shirt is it is completely adjustable. You can make it as tight or as loose as you want.

So sorry it took me a year to accomplish this :/
Love to you all.

Grey CrissCross, Cutout Shirt; DIY

Summer is Coming and Tee Shirts will be a staple in our summer wardrobe. One of my favorite things to do is re-design  simple tees to spice them up and make them fun to wear. This Design was a request from my beautiful 2nd cousin.  This Criss-Cross Cutout may look  difficult but it is really easy. My only suggestion  would  be to buy  a small sharp pair of scissors.
I hope All of you are doing well, I am  sending out my love and prayers to anyone struggling, or just needing a hug. Life can be so hard sometimes, but you are strong and you can pull through. Reach out to friends and family, they are there for you and they love you and so do I.

Easy Pocket Pies,101.

I have been so obsessed with these little pocket pies.    Pack them in lunches , eat them for a quick snack after school, or why not wrap some up and give them as a gift. I mean it's pie, who doesn't like pie?

Fun Fact:
1900s  – Legendary glutton and a ladies man, James Buchanan Brady (1856–1917), known as Diamond Jim Brady, loved pies of various types. A special dinner was arranged by architect Stanford White. A huge pie was wheeled in, a dancer emerged, naked, and walked the length of the banquet table, stopping at Brady’s seat and fell into his lap. As she fed the millionaire, more dancers appeared. Brady was well known to finish lunch with an array of several kinds of fruit pies
 Well Now, Interesting Huh?
Want to make your very own Pocket Pie? Here is how.

Valentine's Day, Felt Envelopes:DIY

This year I really wanted to make some handmade Valentine's Day things for all my family and friends. The only thing I was worried about was not having enough time to do them. Well, I fell sick with the Flu on Saturday and I have had nothing but time.
These cute little Envelopes and Hearts I have been making have made my sickness bearable.  The Idea came from some felt envelopes I saw at Target and also on Pinterest. I can't think of anything more special than a handmade Valentines Gift. I was so Happy I could do that this year. Oh, and I am on Day 3 of the flu, I am hopeful  tomorrow I will be at least 75% better.
