Easy Pocket Pies,101.

I have been so obsessed with these little pocket pies.    Pack them in lunches , eat them for a quick snack after school, or why not wrap some up and give them as a gift. I mean it's pie, who doesn't like pie?

Fun Fact:
1900s  – Legendary glutton and a ladies man, James Buchanan Brady (1856–1917), known as Diamond Jim Brady, loved pies of various types. A special dinner was arranged by architect Stanford White. A huge pie was wheeled in, a dancer emerged, naked, and walked the length of the banquet table, stopping at Brady’s seat and fell into his lap. As she fed the millionaire, more dancers appeared. Brady was well known to finish lunch with an array of several kinds of fruit pies
 Well Now, Interesting Huh?
Want to make your very own Pocket Pie? Here is how.

 Things You Need.

  •  Filling of your Choice. Canned filling is perfect or you can use fresh apples or berries.
  • I used a combination half  of the pies were canned peach filling and the other  half were fresh Apples.
  • Pillsbury Pie crust.
  • Cream
  • Cinnamon/ Sugar mix.
  • Small Heart Cookie Cutter(optional)
  • Knife
  • 1/4 Stick of butter

  •  First mix up some cinnamon and sugar  and placed it in a little shaker.

  •  Cut the sides of the dough.

  • Then  cut the dough into 4 equal portions
  • Cut the apples into slices
  • Cube the Butter

  •  Using the cookie cutter, cut the the dough into little hearts.

  • Place the fruit slices on  the top center of the dough.
  • Place a few cubes of butter on top.
  • Sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

  •  Fold up the the bottom part of the dough.
  • Seal the sides
    •  Fold the corners over leaving the center, top open.
    •  Brush with cream
    • Place the cut out hearts in the center. Brush the heart with cream
    • Sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar.

    • Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 424 for 25 minutes.

Truly delicious if you love pie and perfect  for a quick dessert for a dinner party,
