Welcome to Project Re-style #32

For this week's project I am taking a small break from clothes and I am venturing down to my feet.

I purchased these oxfords about 6 months ago, and for the last 2 months I have been thinking that they needed some spiffing up. With my shoes looking kind of bland, and fall just around the corner,  a little sparkle might just be the answer.

I Appropriately named my new shoes,

Twinkle Toes.

( I had some before pictures,  but because I received a new computer system this weekend, some of my pictures went  missing.   So if my before picture looks a little funny, it is because I used the program paint, to paint them back black.:)

Tutorial

Things you need.

1.Take your glue and with a paint brush apply the glue where you want it.

2. Sprinkle on your glitter. I used my finger flatten down the glitter.

3. Let dry and apply another coat of glue and glitter.

4. Let that dry and apply a third coat of glue to seal in all the glitter and as a protector.

Let dry for about 24 hours before wearing.

I am a little glitter obsessed this week.

A Round Tuit

All That Glitters.

Having ideas constantly go through your head can be a great thing or sometimes a bad thing.  I have sooooooooo many ideas and thoughts invading my brain, that time does not allow me to create them all.   Luckily I had a little  time the last few days to make a few of my visions.  

Here is one of them.

 

 Tutorial 

Things You Need

1. 2 Wooden beads

2. Glitter

3. Rhinestones- Wal-mart- bead section

4. Pliers

5.Chain

6. 4 Jump rings

7. Lobster claw clasp

8. Mod Podge

9. Small brush to apply the glue on the beads.

First, paint your beads with Mod Podge. then sprinkle them with glitter, let dry and apply a top coat of mod podge to seal the glitter. Let dry, about 1 hour.

 Then measure how long you want your chain,( mine is about 16 inches) use pliers to cut the chain to the length you want.

 then cut a small length of chain to go through your two the beads. ( about 3 inches)  Once the chain is through the beads,  attach a jump ring to the top and the bottom of the chain.

Now add your rhinestones to the clasps that they come with.   Cut them different lengths with your pliers.  Add all of your rhinestones  to one of your jump rings, then add your jump ring to the bottom  chain.

now with pliers, add your other two jump rings and your lobster claw clasp to the back of the necklace.

and that is it!

Two for One

I hate to see the Summer end, even though the Summers in Florida are super hot, muggy and rainy. I simply love having my children home during the summer break.  Now that school is approaching at light speed, I start to think about them getting another year older and another year  closer to having a life of their own one day.  It makes me both sad and happy at the same time.  I also know that there will not be many more days that I can wear my summer skirts and dresses. This one piece does double duty as a dress and a skirt.

New Fall Creation

With Fall just around the corner, my thoughts have been leaning toward  fall colored accessories.
 I've been dreaming of cooler days, chunky knit sweaters, and the smell of wood burning, meandering through the air,  and thus this suede clutch was created.

1940's Shorts

H and I where shopping yesterday when she found these wonderful,  high waisted, floral shorts at Marshall's, for a steal@$12.99. These shorts where so cute, it preempted a~" quick lets take pictures before the sun goes down." photo shoot.  The cute sassy way the shorts moved, reminded me of what they would wear in the in the 1940's Summers.   She paired it with a cute blush top and some neutral, patent leather, flip flops, and the envelope clutch purse, is one I made last week.  

I love it when she yes to her picture being taken.

I love that era in clothes.

Project Re-Style #32, Open back shirt.

Welcome to Project Re-Style day.!
My favorite day.  
I have seen so many of these shirts around that I had to try and make one myself. Now, I know this style is for a certain age and believe me, I will not be sporting this shirt around without a tank, or maybe as a bathing suit cover up.  But,  for the younger generation, it is fun Summer shirt, and  an easy way to change up and old tee-shirt you might be tired of.

Inspiration

Tutorial

Things you need

1. Tee-shirt

2. Scissors

3. Ribbon or extra knit material for the bow.

4. Sewing machine

 1. Cut out the collar

2. Flip the shirt over, cut a straight line up the back to about 3 inches from the collar.

3. Cut the sleeves
4. Take your two pieces and overlap them at the bottom.  I overlapped them about 4 inches, but if your shirt is bigger you can go in more.
5. Sew them together at the bottom.  I used the original hem as a guideline.
6. Tie a bow at the top. using your ribbon or extra material.

 And that is it.!
Super quick and
pretty easy.

now you have a new open back Tee.

New Red Leather Clutch, DIY.

My trip the last week was so wonderful, that I hated to leave.  But as we all know, wonderful sometimes have to come to an end to make room for more wonderful!  I want to thank my Brother and Sister In law for being such gracious hosts, and for renewing my spirit that was running on empty.

As promised I am doing a tutorial on the new red clutch I made. It is an easy, no sew, DIY.

I have to inform you~ that I have become obsessed with making leather clutches.

Tutorial

Things you need

and

E6000 Glue

1. Cut your leather

there will be two pieces. the bottom piece will be 14 inches by 13 inches

the top piece  will be 9inches  by 13inches

2.  Fold the bottom piece in half and glue down the sides.

3.  Punch holes down each side.  be sure to make an even number of holes.

4.  use your leather cording and lace up both sides. Tie knots and place a little glue on the knots.

 

5. Take the top piece and glue it to the bottom piece.

6. Add your snaps instructions for them HERE

I cut 3 strips of leather and braided them to make a small handle that I attached with leather cording.

Let this sit for 24 hours to let the glue set up.

Now you have a new clutch!

Of course I had to add tassels.

The Wall

My sister in law and I went on a little adventure to get some shots of this amazing wall that I saw the other day. Of course, all around where I am right now are wonderful antique shops, quaint restaurants and scenery to die for. It makes you want to drink some sweet tea, rocking in a rocker.  This Wall and another red and white checkered wall, were so beautiful I had to have myA take some shots for me..
