Flying Bats, DIY

Adding a few  flying bats to the house.  

This is a quick and easy DIY thanks to Martha Stewart.

 Tutorial

Things you need.

1. Template: Martha Stewart
2. Black Cardstock
3. Pencil
4. Scissors
5. String.
6. Nail

 Cut out your Template

Fold your cardstock.

Place your Bat template on the folded part of the cardstock

 Trace around your template.

 Cut out.

 Fold the wings down.

 With your nail, punch a hole in the middle of the bat.

 Cut your string about 10 inches and fold in half put the string through the hole, tie a small knot.

 Hang on dead branches.

The Halloween Before October.

Last year, I am not proud to admit that I did not decorate for Halloween AT ALL. 

I have no Idea why, except that maybe I was just really tired.( no excuse)

 Well it is a new year and the mood of Halloween  has struck me once again.

Why you ask?

 It might  be the great group of friends that I have, the trip to Walt Disney World for 

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, 

or just that I  really missed the whimsey  and fun of Halloween.

 It always reminds me of the great memories that my Mom and Dad created for us when we were young. It is Such a special time and I vow to never forget Halloween again.

Here are a few things I worked on today to get ready for October.

The Brads Have It. DIY, Purse Re-Style.

I have been doing a little Fall, cutter clean up and in this process have discovered several purses that need a re-style. I found some brads for cheap, which I thought  would make a great embellishment for this one red purse that is now my new Red Clutch.

 Tutorial

Things you need

1. Old purse
2. x-acto knife
3. Brads * I bought at Michaels

 Cut off the straps

 Save that for another project

 Start in the middle and cut a small slit.

 Place your brad through the slit.

Bend them back

 Continue all the way around the front edge of the purse.

 All Done

Wear with your favorite outfit.

Glitter,Vampire Tee-shirt,DIY

Next week I have an opportunity to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party,

 at Walt Disney World. Check that out HERE.   I am so excited, I feel just like a little kid.  

With that being said we all wanted to wear something fun to this party,

 but not to hot or hard to move around in.

 We decided fun Tee-shirts and makeup will be on the agenda for all of us. 

 This is the shirt Gina came up with, fun glitter lips and Vampire teeth, 

Of course you will have to wait until next week to see all of us dressed up.

Tutorial.

 Things you need.

1. Tee-Shirt
2. Fabric glue
3. Scissors
4. Glitter
5. Brush or a small wooden stick* to spread the glue*
6. Pins or Tape
7. Chalk * not shown

 First you cut off the collar

 Tape or pin your stencil in the middle of your shirt

Then trace it with chalk

 now put your fabric glue all over the lips.

I would to bottom half of the lips first.

With your brush or stick even out the glue.

 sprinkle your glitter all over the glue.

 I used my finger and I  LIGHTLY rubbed the glitter into the glue.

 Let that dry for about 2 to 3 hours 

repeat the glue and glitter step if there are any holes.

 Let dry 2 more hours, 

Once it is completely dry then cut out the teeth with your scissors.

Now Wear it with a white tank.

Let this shirt cure for about a week before you wash it, 

and I would hang it dry.

No dryer.

Polka Dot, Cropped Shirt, DIY.

This season I have seen so many cute, cropped sweatshirts and long sleeve knit shirts.

Here is my quick and easy way to make your own.

 Tutorial

Things you need.

1. Long sleeve shirt* the one I used was from Wal-mart mens medium, fruit of the loom.
2. Scissors
3. Brush
4. Tulip fabric paint. *The color I used was Platinum metallic.
5. Paper plate

 I almost always draw my idea, 

just to get an glance at what it will look like.

 Cut off the collar

 I cut  8 1/2 inches off the bottom.

I poured the paint on my plate.

Then I started to paint my dots.* I painted them free hand*

small at the top, working my way down.

I gradually made my dots larger toward the bottom.

 I only painted the front of my shirt.

I  also painted dots down the sleeves.

All finished,

Now I have some more polka dots to add to my wardrobe.
