Love it! My girls (ages 10 and 11) and I each made one in different colors! I am a size small, and they are size 10/12 kids, and Men's Medium t-shirts worked great for all 3 of us :) The only caution I'd give is using an old shirt that's too worn - it just didn't cut as nicely. Great idea! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes, I feel like not so worn t-Shirts work best. Hanes is my Favoirite.
DeleteHave a wonderful day
Anne
TIP: SAVE your SLEEVES! They make great headbands! I just cut mine a bit, then put it on! Super cute as is! :)
ReplyDeleteYes most definitely save your sleeves the can be recycled as well.
DeleteCan't wait to try this!!! Aren't you creative...love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tiffany!! :)
DeleteGreat idea, love this and can't wait to make for my daughter!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteAmazing and so ingenious! Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis was one of my most faves from you so simple! I've been eyeing my boyfriend's tees and bro's tees for one I could steal and make a vest!
ReplyDeleteThat's fabulous! It looks super easy and I CANNOT wait to try it!
ReplyDeleteLove this!!! I'm on a strict budget right now and this will be perfect to spice up my wardrobe!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had seen this before I donated 45 T-shirts to GoodWill. But I know where to find more.
ReplyDeleteLove this. So going to buy a shirt for me and one for my 6 year old daughter to make us each one.
ReplyDeleteWell, I just raided my husband's closet for a shirt and found one I know doesn't fit him and made a vest. Making the vest was so easy. I need to be more careful next time and cut out the lines neater.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to make this and sew up the front a little to make it into a halter.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great Idea.. I would love to see it!!
Deletewow!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletegreat idea:)

ReplyDeleteYou are brilliant
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.. you are so sweet!!
DeleteI just found my weekend project! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try this, but I have just one question. Does the material fray at all as it's washed? I have a couple Old Navy shirts I think I will try it on.
ReplyDeleteHi Misty.
DeleteNo, it will not fray. That is the best thing about knit material!!!
Have fun..
i love that!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is just to adorable. I love it and it looks like something you would pay $$'s for at Penneys or Kohls. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI normally wear a xl or 2x and I made it out of a 3x and got along fine. Had to cut the neck bigger but it looks and feels great....
ReplyDeleteThe best part is you can tweak it to fit you..
DeleteSo glad you made one
Just happened upon your link.....you are freaking awesome to even have this idea!!! It's very hard to find cool crap that fits us bigger girls.....everyone will HATE me because I will have these in every color imaginable and they will ENVY ME!!!! =]
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I am going to raid my fiance's t-shirts! :) Can I ask? Are those pillow cases on your chairs? What ever you did, they look great.
ReplyDeleteYes they are Pillow cases, I did that last year for Our Thanksgiving Day Dinner. How very observant of you. Thank you so very much!!
DeleteHave a great night!!
Anne

ReplyDeletelisacdaly@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!
DeleteI have made 3 so easy.My friend wants me to show her. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteYou so welcome, thank you for visiting..
Deleteits soo easy ...thnx for its such a fabulous idea...one query 2 ask..is it necessary 2 pick a plain (nonprinted t shirt 4 dis???
ReplyDeleteNope! you can pick any shirt you want!!:)
DeleteI just did this and it's adorable! I used one of my huband's long-lost t-shirts (he has dozens - he'll never miss it!). Took me a little longer than 5 minutes, only because I had to trim edges to eliminate jaggedy bits, and I started with a smaller cut around the neck and went back several times to cut more out so it would fit looser.
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect for Florida, where we like the layered look, but don't need the extra warmth! Thank you!
Awesome, I am so happy it was easy..Yay for easy!!
DeleteHave a fantastic day.!!
Wow so simple, yet so elegant. Am making some for our schools spirit shop, adding studs, rhinestones and handpainting! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't wait to grab a pair of scissors and a t-shirt. What an amazing idea - and I love the scarf look too. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much!!

ReplyDeleteOMG! Who knew??!! Finaly boring old xxl T-Shirts are boring no more. I will have to find some this coming week (only have small and Medium) I hate going out without some sort of cover for my...erm...tummy and in the spring/summer this would look awesome with Jeans and a white T

ReplyDeleteThx!
B
This vest, that is pictured is the exact same vest as is in the video. I do have some different vest. The one on here is the one in the video.:)
DeleteI found this on Pinterest and was so excited to find out how to make the vest for $5 instead of spending $20 for the same thing at Target! I can't wait to make one...and one for each of my 5 girls. Actually I think we'll have a craft day and each make our own!
ReplyDeleteKristy R. - rivers5mom@yahoo.com
How do you keep the cut edges from looking choppy?? I used a long sleeve t and when I cut out the sleeves, they were too curvy and didn't hang nicely at all! The back of mine got too skinny too!
ReplyDeleteHey there, I have never used a long sleeve shirt for this, only short sleeve shirt. I am not sure why the back of yours was too skinny, maybe your shirt was too small. I used a xlarge mens shirt. Sorry that yours didn't work out!:(
DeleteThis is a great idea!! I can't wait to try it!! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteJust took a long sleeve tie-dyed shirt (a give-away at some convection) and made this. LOVE IT !! Less than 5 minutes. Thanks
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!! I love it! Thanks for the VIDEO :)
ReplyDeleteLove the vest and the video! Thanks for sharing the idea :)
ReplyDeleteI made mine with a large instead of an xl. It still turned out great, but it's just about hip length on me so I don't have to worry about it getting caught on stuff at work.
THANKS!!!
Thank you so much!! thank you so much for visiting!!
DeleteWow... I happened across this on Pinterest... this is awesome, can't wait to try it :o)
