Rainbow Pom Pom, Tassel Wall Hanging.

Make a little Rainbow out of Love and put it wherever you want.
Several ancient cultures, including the Egyptians and Chinese, practiced chromotherapy, or the use of colors to heal. Chromotherapy is sometimes referred to as light therapy or colorology.

Colorology is still used today as a holistic or alternative treatment. In this treatment:
  • Red is used to stimulate the body and mind and to increase circulation.
  • Yellow is thought to stimulate the nerves and purify the body.
  • Orange is used to heal the lungs and to increase energy levels.
  • Blue is believed to soothe illnesses and treat pain.
  • Indigo shades are thought to alleviate skin problems.

To me, color makes me smile and  gives me an over all sense of peace.
How about you, How does Color effect you?

Things You Need

  • Wrap the entire  hoop with a neutral color yarn
  • Tie off at the end with a double knot

  • Make one pom pom in each color.

  • To make the tassel
  • I wrapped the yarn around the book, careful not to wrap too tightly to the size I wanted

  • Tie the pom pom  around the top of the tassel

  • Tie a double knot

  • Cut the loops open at the bottom

  • Cut a piece of yarn about 8 inches, wrap around the top off the tassel
  • Tie a double knot .

  • Wrap the rest of the yarn around twice  more.
  • Tie one more knot.

  • Do this for each color
Now that you have all of the colors it is time to assemble the Rainbow.

  • Tie the colors in the ROYGBIV, order.
  • Red
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Indigo
  • Violet

I placed a neutral color Pom Pom at the top of the circle but that is totally optional .
The best part about DIY's is that you can make this Rainbow decor to fit you and your personality.
Pick whatever colors you want and use your imagination.

I love how mine turned out and I already have a request from my daughter to make her one.

Now I need to redo the side tassels on my fire place to match my rainbow.
