Fall, Suede Clutch Tutorial

A few people have asked  me to do a tutorial on my Fall suede clutch.  I love writing up tutorials, even though it is not until after the whole piece is put together that I realize  I have not taken any pictures or written any notes on how I made it.  So I always have to reconstruct it in my head and draw it out on my draft pad. Not the easiest way to do a tutorial, but because my mind works backwards, it seems to come together perfectly.  I Love DIY, or anything that has to do with me making it or remaking something. This clutch was a combination of about 50 different clutches that I researched over the internet.  One was from Cheri and her blog, I am momma Hear me roar. Her tutorial HERE.  I loved the scalloped edges and the button embellishment.
In the end, it was tailored just to me and my style. No sewing machine is required, all you need are just  a few supplies, a little time,  and a clutch like this can be yours.
Tutorial
Things You Need.

1. Leather 10 inches by 10 inches for the base and about 10 inches by 7 inches for the flap.( you could make this any size you want, these are just the dimensions  I used) and then some scrap leather for tassels and embellishments.
2.Leather hole punch
 3.Waxed linen thread
4.Glue
5.Magnetic snaps
6 A nail for the holes
7. Not shown~ but you need a good pair of  Scissors.
8. Needle

 1.Cut out your shape
2. Cut out your flap
3.Take the extra where you just cut the half circle flap and cut out the scallop shape
4.Glue that to you half moon shape.
5. Fold your leather in half~ place a small amount of glue down both sides, press them down.*( be careful not to use to much glue, because you will be turning this inside out.)
Using the hole punch-punch holes down each side.  Then sew with your waxed linen thread.
6.Take the bottom of your bag flatten the corners and punch 3 to 4 holes then sew there.  Turn your bag right side out
7. Take the half moon flap and glue it to the outside back of your bag. Let dry for about 30 minutes. Attach the magnetic snaps. instructions for that HERE
8. Cut 6 circles~ 2 small, 2 medium, and 2 large.  Stack on top of each other and punch 2 holes in them.
Attach one of the stacked circles to the front flap, to cover the magnetic snap. Do this by punching  2 holes on the flap of your purse then  using your waxed linen and  your needle, or a piece of suede lace, tie the embellishment down. Attach the other circles  the same way, but to the back of the purse, where the front and back meet. Pictured below.

Tassel instruction.

To attach the tassels
Cut a 3and1/2  inch by 1/2 inch piece of leather
folded it in half.
cut out 2 small circles
place your tassels in the folded piece of leather, place the circles over the piece of folded leather, punch 2 holes in all the pieces, then I punch two holes in the side of the bag.  Then  attach it with a needle and waxed linen.
and with that last embellishment  you are done.

I hope this makes sense to all of you.
If not, please do not hesitate to email me.
Happy Hump day to you all.
