T-Shirt, Beach Cover up, DIY

 Inspiration

Tutorial.
Things You Need

  1. 2  t-shirts.. I used 2 Xtra Large mens shirts. One white, one grey
  2. Scissors
  3. Pencil
  4. Ruler
  5. Sewing machine
  6. Needle
  7. Thread to match
  8. Large Paper clip or Safety Pin

 Fold your shirt in half
*make sure you line up the shoulders and arms.

Measure from the top of the collar about 4 inches,
make a mark with your pencil.

Use your ruler and make a line.

Cut on your line

Open up your shirt. You should have a V in the front and back.

Take your other Shirt, cut off the hem at the bottom.
*Save the hem you will use it for the ties on the back of the shirt.

Cut 2 more 1- 1/2 inch strips.
3 strips total.

Place your one strip right under the arms,
pin it all the way around.
Then sew on the top part of the strip, then on the bottom all the way around.

Cut a small slit right in the front * just cut the grey material.

Take the second grey strip, cut it open and stretch it : it  will turns into a tube like string.
This will be your tie.

I made this to weave the string through, but you can use a safety pin or a large paper clip.

Tie your string to your Safety pin, Paper clip or make shift paper clip.

Weave it through where you made a slit
push it all the way around and make it come out where you started.

Remember the hem you cut off?
Cut the hem where you have two equal pieces.
Then attach to the back top of your shirt.
You can hand stitch or use the sewing machine.

Now you have a new beach cover up for Summer.
Have a Wonderful Day.
Lots of <3,
Anne

  2. I was so glad to see this on your Facebook page yesterday. I always love your tee shirt restyles and this one is really clever. I posted two finished photos and a link back to your blog on my Tumblr blog truebluemenandyou. What I said in my post was that this cover up is pretty in the front and back.
