Off the Shoulder Scarf Shirt / Dress. DIY

Make your own off the shoulder Shirt/ Dress with a scarf in 10 minutes.
Adam and I saw this top  while we were out getting ideas
and we thought it would be super easy to make.

Tutorial
Things you need.

  1. A scarf (Dimensions my scarf  is  6 feet by 3 feet)
  2. Sewing machine
  3. Safety pins
  4. Pencil or chalk

measure  from under your arm almost to your shoulder.

 Fold your scarf in half

Use a piece of clothing that you like the way it fits
and trace a line from under the arm to the bottom hem.

with your safety pins, pin where your measurements are.
Try it on.
Make adjustments if necessary.

If it fits....
sew where the red lines are. A small half inch at the top.
*I sewed over it twice to make sure it was secure.*

Front

 Back

Now you have a new off the shoulder shirt or dress for  a summer party.
I made this in about ten minutes.
You can too.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
Lots of <3,
Anne

  5. Wow! Awesome! I'm always finding scarves on sale in gorgeous fabrics that I wish I could find a garment in, and I'm in LOVE with the flowy, one-sleeve look! Thank you for such an easy project- now to borrow my mom's machine....

  10. Found this post yesterday, just in time for a birthday party in very very hot Iowa...it was the most comfortable, cool and beautiful top. I got LOTS of compliments, and spent the night feeling like (as one of the impressed party goers said) a greek goddess. Thank you!

  12. I am sorry. I don't understand the sewing part. Can you clarify it for me?? Am I suppose to sew whole top to bottom? You didn't draw dash lines on top. Thank you! You can email me at caligirlmimi@yahoo.com or I will check back.

  13. I have a scarf large enough for a dress and I had literally searched the web for a design that would fit perfectly...others would either be too corny, too complicated,etc..etc... This is the only site that I find very "Idiot Friendly" (for I am an idiot when it comes to DIY)hahaha ...THANK YOU!!!!

  16. How pretty is this??! I brought back WAY too many pretty scarves from my semester abroad in Thailand; I can just see some of them reworked into gorgeous tops/dresses like these! I love one-shoulder tops but they're always way too boobilicious... LOVE this.
