ReplyDeleteCurious how this held up when you washed it?
ReplyDeleteI tested the ribbon before I used it and it did not bleed at all. Hand wash in cold water, dry flat and it should be fine. Just test your ribbon, make sure you can wash it :)
DeleteI just made one, and I zig-zaged around the slits before I cut them. Essentially, a simple buttonhole. I ironed a little interfacing on the back first. It worked up nicely, and I think it will last longer. Used a zebra ribbon on a bright pink shirt for my granddaughter.
DeleteI love it, but is there a way to keep both shoulders on? :)

Yes, you don't have to cut out the collar, that should keep it in place.:)
DeleteI just made this for my daughter. It turned out so cute. Thanks for the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteYour very welcome, thank you:)
ReplyDeleteThis tutorial left much to be desired. Very disappointing! Shame on you!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you didn't like it.
DeleteSo is your ribbon doubled when running it up shirt so you can tie a bow? I understand all the way till you get to the bow part

ReplyDeleteyes it is,i folded it in half and there is a a picture, where it says weave your ribbon through, I will work up a drawing and post it so it is more clear.:)
DeleteWhere did you find THAT particular bow?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of shirt did you use, is it just an over sized shirt? Also did you cut the sleeves an the bottom?
ReplyDeleteI used a medium women's shirt and no I did not cut the sleeves or the bottom. :)
Deletethank you for sharing from italy... taced
ReplyDeletevery cute i love it, but was wondering how much ribbon to buy and how wide did you use ?
ReplyDelete3 inch Wide ribbon about 2 and a half yards long:))

Would you recommend getting your own shirt size, or a size above? I love this tutorial. I'm making it tonight! :D
ReplyDeleteDepending on how you would want the shirt to fit. i did mine slightly bigger but if you want it to fit just get your size tee-shirt.:)i would love to see..
DeleteMade this for a birthday present. I stopped the bow a bit before the collar. Very easy to do!
ReplyDeleteHow would you wash this tho? isnt ribbon very delicate? i would imagine it shrinking...
ReplyDeleteYou could always pick a washable ribbon and just hang it dry instead of putting it in the dryer.:)
DeleteOh I love it. I make hair bows so I have tons of ribbon. im going to make this for my daughter but im wondering if weaving the ribbon around the middle and tying a bow in the back would work instead of up the side?
ReplyDeleteIt is worth a try. I think it would look very nice.
DeleteAmazing. I love the white shirt with the pink ribbon. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for this great tutorial!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Nina!:)

I would love you to go after this person and get it taken down. S/he is stealing the creativity of others to generate ad revenue - it's infuriating!
Love your shirt and tutorial! I have a few t-shirts that I would probably wear more if they looked like this. Gives me a good excuse to go to the craft store for some ribbon ;)
ReplyDeleteFabulous work!! I love it so!!
ReplyDeleteI tried something similar with an ild mens t-shirt I found at the thrift shop and it did not turn out as I had hoped. May I ask... did you go up a size or two in t-shirts and/or use a specific material?
ReplyDeleteLove all of the inspiration! Jen
This was a medium womens shirt, I bought from Michaels I stayed with the size that I normally am for this project. Thank you so much for the question:)
