Because of all of the questions I have received about this project,
I have done a quick video on this No Sew Vest.
This vest is very Similar to some of the other vests I have done, with slight variations .
You can visit them HERE and HERE
Hopefully this will answer some of those questions.
Written instructions will be below as well.
You can basically make this in about 5 minutes.
Have Fun.
Tutorial
Things you need
- Large or Extra large T-Shirt (I use Hanes)
- Scissors
Here is a quick, four minute video on how I did it.
WATCH ME.
WATCH ME.

- cut wear the red lines are
- open the shirt back up: cut a straight line, up the middle of the front.

This is very similar to this T-vest I did last Summer.

Oh WOW! This is awesome! If I wasn't madly in love with my husband, I'd go cut up one of his t-shirts, but I'll wait until I head to the store and buy one! GREAT IDEAS! You're so inspiring! Love your blog!

ReplyDeleteThese are so awesome!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas and amazing ways to save money and still be in style. I was wondering though, one of the comments that was left mentioned the Sarah vest? I don't see it any where and just want to make sure I am not missing out on something cool. Thanks again, and the videos are awesome and really helpful. Keep those coming!!

This is so neat!! :D I really want to make one now~ ^^
ReplyDeletethis is perfect! i have TONS of big tees form a previous project!
ReplyDelete[oomph.]
Question... If I were to make this for someone petite do you think I should use a small or medium shirt? And would you size down for the other altered shirts?
ReplyDeleteI think a medium shirt for a petite person would work well. I am 5'8 and I weigh about 140 pounds,or around 10 stones in England, and I wear a large mens shirt for this project. I hope this helps.

Deletelove the vest. also love the song what is it and who sings it?
ReplyDeleteKeane, This is the last time.:) I love them..
DeleteI made one of these vests with an old tee shirt i had. It is really cute, but a bit to small. I will have to pick up another larger shirt and give this one to my younger sister. Now my only question is my husband had asked me, how I am going to wash it without it falling apart, I was wondering if you had any suggestions....
ReplyDeleteit should wash just fine if it is a knit shirt. I have washed mine several times.:)
DeleteWow! This looks fun and easy. My daughter just left the room to go look for t-shirts! Great video too. I plan to look at some more of your stuff. Well done!

ReplyDeleteThank you Jaye, I will look.. I always need gardening help.
DeleteThank you so much. I had an old baggy t-shirt in my wardrobe that I wasn't keen on and I needed something Summery (as we are having some real sun here in England for a change. Thought I would probably make a hash of it as I didn't want to cut up the front part but it has turned out perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to the charity shop now to find some more t-shirts.
Thank you so much..:)
DeleteThis is awesome! Is the video gone? It won't open. I am doing this, but can't determine the width for the top of the straps and the center of the back. And I don't see any seems on the shoulders on your shirt. Did it have any? Mine does and the look awkward.
ReplyDeleteHey Joey, no the video is still there. You can go to my you tube channel at look at the video if you can't get it to open here. there are no seams i have cut out all the seams. The video should show you a little better. I hope this helps.
DeleteAnne.
Yes! I got to the video. Apparently the t-shirt I chose (because I wanted a bright color) was all wrong. It was too heavy and scructured, with thick seams on the shoulders. I'll see if I can make it into something else. But, I will find another t-shirt and try again. Thanks.
DeleteI love it! Can't wait to try it myself. You are very creative!! Thank you
ReplyDeleteI made the drapin vest and cant wait to try this one.. thank you so much.. you are AWESOME...Peace Love and hugs
