July In Pictures and a Big Thank you.

My Life over the last month has been full of everything.
Here is a quick summary of what has been happening in my world.
I write for two different blogs besides my own
Both are fantastic sites for crafting and re-styling your life.
My grandmother, whom I love dearly and is 97, ended up in the hospital for a week
but is now home and well on her way to recovery.
My dear friend Keira from the awesome blog "A Pretty Penny" asked me to participate in
which ended up being  a huge success.
All in all it has been a pretty busy July.
When all is said and done I have to recognize that  I  have a wonderful
Husband and Family, who is right in the mix of all the crazy with me.
Without my husband Kevin I could never accomplish what I do.
He feeds  me almost every night, when I finally dragged myself through the door,
otherwise I would be eating a bowl of cereal.
(all of the food pictures I post are of  his wonderful creations,
he should really have his own restaurant.)
He listens to my crazy ideas and tells me, "That sounds great honey."
He is my shoulder to cry on when I am just to overwhelmed to move forward.
He also keeps all of my computer hardware working so I can blog.
I don't think I could ever express how much he means to me.
Of course, he likes being behind the scenes,
but I need to put a face with my second half because he is amazing..
Partner in crime:)
Thank you Kevin for all you do for me.

And for all of you visual people, which is me included,
here is my month summarized in pictures,
Thanks to Instagram

I also want to thank all of YOU for making July such a fantastic month.
Doing this DIY Blog is a dream of mine that is finally coming to reality.
Because of all of your support and love My Blog continues to grow,
I could never thank you enough.

Lots of DIY and Fun to come in the month of August!
I hope you will join me for it.

Lots of <3,
Anne

A Fantastic Night!

Keira, A Pretty Penny, and I have both come to the  conclusion that the first official Art Walk in downtown Winter Haven was a success. Even with the rain we had a fantastic turn out.  The historic town of Winter Haven was bustling with the sounds of people, live music on almost every corner, Art, yummy food and drinks. I was able to meet a lot of people face to face something, as a blogger, I really don't get to do that often, and I loved every minute of it. I want to Thank Lasater Flowers, Keira and Chad for inviting me  to participate. It was a Fantastic Night.

First outfit pick for the evening. The Shirt I am wearing will be a DIY very soon. I felt it only appropriate to make something to wear for the evening.
Then as I was walking to have my makeup done By the beautiful Melissa,  I spotted these amazing coral beauties and they just so happen to be on SALE, so of course they had to be mine.
Which opted me to do outfit #2.
It just so happened that I had stashed a coral belt in my bag for a pop of color.
Lucky for me because the coral belt  was a perfect match to my shoes.
Kismet.
Oh and one of my new favorite cocktails Noble Blood Orange Juice and Prosecco

I made a few shirts just for the occasion.
The Noble Blood OrangeJuice and Prosecco was flowing, what and amazing concoction.

I also have to thank these two beautiful people, Gina and Liz, for helping me set up
and always being such a great support group.
I honestly don't know what I would do without you guys.

Keira was busy at work being the perfect hostess
and making beautiful roses for everyone to take home.
A great parting gift.
Have a Wonderful Weekend.

Art Walk, 2013

I was asked by my good Friend Keira,  AKA A Pretty Penny, to be their sponsored artist In Downtown Winter Haven' s Art Walk. This Thursday August 1 from 5:30 to 8:30.  If you are a local Reader I would love to meet you over a cocktail and if you are feeling crafty why not  bring an Old  shirt so we can turn it into something fun and cute to wear. I will also have a few of my jewelry and one of a kind t-shirt creations there, which you will be able to purchase.

 Circa 2007
Keira and I go back quite a few years.
We both met as part time managers for Express,
and have been wonderful friends ever since.
Come and join us for some drinks, food and fun.

Triangle Statement Necklace, DIY

Make your own Triangle statement necklace.
 Inspiration
Via Pinterest

Tutorial
Things you need.
  1. Leather * Michaels or Hobby Lobby
  2. Chain * Michaels, Wal-mart, Hobby Lobby
  3. Ruler
  4. X-acto knife
  5. Jump rings* Wal-mart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels
  6. Clasp
  7. Paper
  8. Pencil
  9. Leather hole punch* Michaels
  10. Pliers

Fold a piece of paper in half and cut a diagonal line, to make a triangle.

Use your pattern to trace 6 triangles onto your leather.
Now use your x-acto knife and your ruler to cut them out.

Cut two lengths of chain 6 & 1/2 inches long

I used rhinestone chain. *If you use regular chain skip this part.
Add your rhinestone chain to the finding provided using your pliers.
Add a jump ring to one of the chains,
Add a  jump ring and clasp to the other end of the other chain.
Using your hole punch, punch holes in your triangles like the picture below.

Connect your triangles using your jump rings and pliers.
then connect the triangles to your two chains.

Now wear with your favorite outfit.
Have a wonderful Friday.
Lots of <3,
Anne.

Cut off Denim, Distressed Shorts, DIY

I love the relaxed  look of cutoff shorts but for me Short, shorts are out of the question.
I have never been able to wear them comfortably.
I do, however, love boyfriend jeans cut into Bermuda shorts.
These longer shorts just fit me and my style better.
I can dress them up with stilettos or down with sandals.
I can make them as dressy or as casual as I want depending on the shoes,
shirts and accessories I pick out.
Why not go grab a pair of old jeans and make some for yourself.
I am going to make a new white pair.

 Tutorial
1.All you need is and old pair of bigger jeans
2. Pair of scissors
 Fold  your jeans
measure you jeans with a pair of shorts that fit you just they way you like,
If you don't have a pair then I would mark  them just at the knee.
Cut them as straight as you can,  but really who cares how straight they are.
 Now comes a little distressing.
Cut perpendicular lines in your jeans about an inch to two inches long.
I  would stick with  small ones at first.
Take a sharp object and de-thread your cut carefully. *you are just loosening the threads.

Pull threads on the bottom and you will be finished.
With each wash your jeans will look more worn.

Now wear your new shorts with your favorite tee shirt or your favorite pair of  shoes
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Lots of <3,
Anne
