Warm Banana Bowl.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful, relaxing Sunday.
This Warm Banana Bowl is something I have been eating lately for my first meal. I hesitate to call it breakfast because I don't usually eat until around 11am- 12pm  for my first meal.  I know lots of people say you need to eat earlier but I just can not do it.  As long as I can remember I have never been able to eat earlier than that and it works for me so that is what I do.

I have replaced my oatmeal with this for the time being because I am watching my carbs pretty closely ( Fruit carbs are an exception.)   It's is warm and nutty with a tropical twist. On this particular day I added some  brie cheese I discovered which adds just a touch of a creamy flavor to off set all the sweet, sort of like a little cream or milk but even better. I am sure there are lots of other things you could add to this bowl like cranberries,
sunflower seeds and shredded coconut, the possibilities are endless.

This banana bowl is really quick and easy,  great for that crisp
Fall morning when you want something more than just  cold cereal.

Candy Kisses Sweatshirt DIY

Fall is upon us and with the cooler weather so are sweaters, scarves, sweatshirts, coats, boots and booties. Here is a sweatshirt that is easy to make and wraps you in kisses, perfect for that fall night.
I have made so many heart sweatshirts using glitter,  paint,
and iron on glitter sheets that I wanted to make something just a little different to wear.
I was traveling though Pinterest and saw a Lip Sweatshirt
and I thought it would be a perfect project.

Heading over to see my Mom and Grandmother's today. My Grandmother is turning 100 years young on October 13 and a Party is a must. I mean how great is it that I have been able to have her in my life for so long. My Grandmother is still very independent and has a better mind than me and my family combined.   Both my Mom and my Grandmother are my inspiration. I always say if I could be only a 1/4 of my Mother I would be doing fantastic.   She is the most amazing soul I know. So happy that I was blessed to be her daughter.   It is very rare that I am off on a Saturday so when I am I love to head over to see both of them and wonder though stores with my Mom like Michaels, Marshall's, and Target. It is kind of our little therapy.

I hope all of you spend the day doing something that you love to do.
That is what makes life so great!
<3 you.

Pointy Toe, Fringe Flats. DIY

Lately I have been working on a lot of  shoe DIY's.   I don't usually stick to one area when I DIY but in the last two weeks I have really been wanting to do Shoes for some reason. This shoe was created mainly because I have been yearning for a pair of Fringe Loafers, like the ones below by J. Crew. There is a link to them below.
Usually when I crave something I try to DIY it.

Change of Subject.
Because I have been getting a few Emails on the Diet I have been doing,
here is a quick up date. I believe I am doing a version of The Paleo diet.
I do not eat Red meat or Pork, I do however eat Fish and Chicken sometimes and Turkey. The main things I stay away from have been sugar, carbs, rice or grains  (fruit in an exception) and any processes food. I also try and eat organic when its available. When I have reached my goal I will most likely re-introduce Brown Rice and Whole grains back into my Diet.
The real  reason I started this diet was to make it easier for my husband,  he was going on a low carb diet to lower his cholesterol. But the secret is that I have been wanting to get healthier and lose about 15- 20 pounds myself, something I have not been able to do for about 15 years. Boy does it get frustrating. I think I  have finally hit on a diet that works with my body type and lifestyle.

The great news is that since June I have dropped 10 pounds (Real Pounds not just water weight.)  I have also, ever so slowly been adding different exercises to tone,
mainly for my rear view and waist area.
(After forty Ladies will understand that this area goes completely south of the equator as you age.)

Even though I am pretty active, I am not a very big fan of doing any kind of  workout routine. To be completely  honest, I hate to exercise, so I sneak 90 butt/ leg kicks in while I have conditioner on my hair in the shower, or I am waiting for my coffee to brew. I feel like if I do it this way I am tricking myself somehow.  I have about 10 more pounds to go so maybe by Christmas I will have reached my goal.  I have taken a different approached to loosing weight this  time. I am looking at this as a lifestyle change more that a diet. I hope to be healthier in the other half of my life and to live a active, free of drugs kind of existence.( As in drugs I mean Blood pressure, Cholesterol medicine.)
I have made up some great recipes that have helped me with this and am hoping to put together a little recipe day every week of the things that fill me up and taste good.
Thanks for reading my little off the subject rant.
I have had few questions about what I have been doing lately so I just wanted to address it.

Ok, back to Shoes.
Make these fringe shoes in about two hours.

Lace up Shoe, DIY

If you are on Pinterest at all I am sure you have seen lace up shoes in your scrolling. The first time I saw them I was wanting to make a pair. This weekend I have finally made a pair and I couldn't be happier on how they turned out. These shoes are exactly as I pictured in my head. Don't you just love when things work out as you pictured them in your head. This DIY is a pretty simple one and can be done with any color shoe ,in fact I have some leopard shoes I found waiting in the wings that I am going to do this to as soon as I have some extra time.
I know a lot of you have the day off today and I hope you enjoy every minute you spend with your loved ones. Maybe you could even squeeze in a DIY or two. As for me, I will be working, but the great thing is  that it is a short day so I will be home early . YAY!  Luckily I have amazing people to work with so my days are always good no matter what.
Oh Yeah,  and I made a Video for all of you visual people out there.
Enjoy.
Have a fantastic day!
Love ya!

Dip Dyed Lace Shirt

Everyday, people inspire my DIY's . Take this shirt for example. I was working at my other job and this cute girl came in with a lace top on that was colored at the bottom. I immediately told my co- worker / best friend,  "Hey look at that shirt. I am going to DIY that." Which was really nothing new to my best friend since she use to hear me say that daily.
But it was a pretty big deal because I don't know if you noticed
but I have been in kind of a little slump lately.
Inspiration that use to come to me all the time was taking a little vacation.
I don't know why we get side tracked from doing what we love to do.
Maybe its family, bills, the dirty clothes, dishes sitting in the sink,
my studio area that needs to be cleaned so I can  actually do a DIY.
Life's little problems, and believe me they are not really problems but just life,
 sometimes zap your oomph.

Over the last two weeks I have been re-evaluating what makes me happy and what my goals are.
The conclusion that I have come to is this Blog makes me Happy! Inspiring others Makes me Happy.! Connecting with all of you makes me Happy! So hopefully I can pull myself together and do more of what I love and that is to Create and inspire other to Create. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I have found Sailor Sam.  I think Finding Sailor Sam has also been a sign. Life is saying to me"Listen Lady, life is fun and wonderful and Silly.
You have goals and plans stick to it no matter how stressful it gets, keep going."

I have just a little advice to give to all of you.  If a door closes or your course is altered unexpectedly
that means you most likely are going in the wrong direction.
Take these changes as God saying "Hey down there wrong way!" Then sit in a quite place and listen to what you want, and where you want to be.  If you are quite enough you can here it.
You are good enough and strong enough and brave enough to accomplish anything.
So what is keeping you?
Only You can keep you from those things.
If you have ideas and want to start a blog just start. If you want to write stories then write your stories.
If you want to sing or paint or be a doctor than just do it.  Focus on the end
not the middle everything else works its self out.  Ok, so That is my little rant.
Now back to the Post.
This DIY I have done is really simple and if you have a couple of rubber bands and some Tie Dye you could have this completed in about one hour, depending on how dark you want the dye to be.

Leopard Shoe, DIY

Leopard is one of my biggest weaknesses.  Anytime I see leopard I am drawn to it like I am drawn to Victoria's Secret or the shoe department ant Dillard's or Macy's. I guess you could call it a slight obsession that I have never gotten out of my system.
I have been attracted to Leopard for as long as I can remember.
I mean Look at DVF with Andy.

Glamour
That picture alone made me fall in love with leopard.

Moving on, I have been wanting to try out a leopard  shoe DIY for a while now,
So when I found these cute pointy toe flats at Charlotte Russe for a steal
I decided the time was now for a Leopard shoe DIY.
Let me show you how easy it is to glam up some plain shoes.

Peanut Butter/Coconut Spread Smoothie!

You guys may not know this about me but I have been low carb-ing it for about 6 weeks.  One of the most surprising things is I would never in a million years think that I would ever give up sugar or carbs for any length of time, I loved bread/pasta way too much to even entertain the idea. But alas I  confess I have been carb free for longer than I have ever been in my life.  Now I still do fruits and natural carbs lets not get crazy . As a matter of fact fruit is most likely my staple food along with leafy greens, all vegetables  and some lean proteins like chicken, turkey and fish. But white starchy foods like rice, potatoes, sugar and bread that is all just a faint memory.

The reason why I went on this crazy low carb diet started with my husband who wanted to lower his cholesterol and loose a few pounds. He went full on no sugar right off the bat. Which was almost our demise.. I don't know if you know someone who has gone low carb before or you have yourself  but you turn into this stark raving mad person you didn't even know existed inside you. I had to deal with Angry Kevin for about 3 weeks.  It got to a point where I was like "WOW you are a crazy person, don't talk to me until you can find one nice word to say or I am going to eat alone tonight!" I was alone for about 3 weeks, not really, but you know what I mean Eventually, Mr. Nice Kevin came back and apologized for all the nastiness he bestowed upon me.
.
I on the other hand approached low-carb  a little more slowly than he did.  Mine was more like walking into a pool of cold, cold water that you have no idea why you are in. Ever so slowly I would eliminate things  the last thing to go was the sugar in my morning coffee, which I compare to me putting my head all the way under the water and WOW it's so freaking cold!!! but like all things your body adjusts and then you kind of slowly say  "This is really, really nice."

I make smoothies most mornings and sneak green stuff in them for Kevin.
You can't taste them they are a just an added healthy bonus.
This Peanut Butter smoothie is his favorite, plus it has protein in it
which is what he thinks he needs.
If you want to send your kids to school with a yummy beginning,  this is the smoothie for you. I also put his vitamins in it,  they are capsules so I just open them and poor them in.
( We have a special  vitamin for low-carb dieters.)
I think Kevin found the vitamins somewhere  on-line.

Some advice for anyone trying the low carb thing. Have lots of patience for the one you love,
the crazy Carb- Mind thing doesn't last too long.
Also I have to note I try and eat all organic and natural foods. I drink No Diet drinks or anything with Aspartame, which I  call the most dangerous thing they add to our food.
Why I feel that way is HERE
I hope you try this and let me know how you liked it.

Cinderella Bow Tank. DIY

Cinderella and all time classic and one of my favorite Disney characters.
I have a co.worker that has a bigger obsession for Cinderella than I do.
We are losing Christy (my Co worker) to a promotion and the loss is so bittersweet.
Christy has been such a joy to work with and completed our team perfectly.
Anyone who works with people know it is very hard to find that perfect mix of co-workers, that makes coming into work an actual joy.
Once you find that perfect mix loosing it is so sad.
I decided to make her a few going away gifts that revolved around her all time favorite Character.
We will Miss you so much Christy but your whole life is in front of you and the doors are opening, walking through them is a must.
Making personal gifts is one of my Favorite things!
Make this cute Silhouette Cinderella tank in no time with the help of
Tulip Colorshot instant fabric paint. This paint drys in about 2 hours and is really easy to use.
With everything I have going on at the moment and the limited time I have to do it all
this stuff is amazing.
